Paula Götz to present at Green Care Research Collective Symposium

ESCH-R PhD candidate Paula Götz will present her research at the Green Care Research Collective (GCRC) Symposium on 29–30 October 2026 in Groningen. The symposium brings together researchers and healthcare professionals working on sustainable healthcare, planetary health and systemic change.
Paula’s pitch, “Uncovering the complexity in the transition to circular medical consumables in hospitals using causal loop diagrams,” explores the needed shift from single-use towards circular medical consumables where feasible.
As part of her ESCH-R research in Work Package 1, Paula is developing a causal loop diagram to map the factors and feedback mechanisms that influence this transition in Dutch hospitals. By considering the perspectives of healthcare professionals and hospital management, the research aims to better understand the complexity of moving towards more circular practices.
Her work contributes to the broader ESCH-R goal of understanding how hospitals can move away from single-use medical consumables and accelerate the transition towards circular healthcare.
Congratulations, Paula, and we wish you a successful presentation in Groningen!
