Sustainability is currently the largest societal transition. Enterprises and external stakeholders must jointly determine the strategic direction towards a sustainable future, according to Professor of Strategic Management Myriam Cloodt.
Earlier this year, Myriam Cloodt delivered her inaugural lecture (‘Strategic Management in Times of Transition’) at the Open University. She had already started there in September 2023 as Professor of Strategic Management. Her interests lie not only in strategic management, but also in open innovation and entrepreneurship. ‘And that hasn’t changed,’ says Cloodt.
‘What has changed is that my research within these disciplines is increasingly focused on sustainability and the circular economy. An important reason for this is that we are facing urgent societal challenges. As a researcher, you don’t want to stand by and watch passively.’
