Summary of the second ESCH-R Community of Practice for nurses and educators

The second Community of Practice for nurses and educators, moderated by Dr. Ellen Bakker (WP6 lead), took place on Thursday 19 June, 2025. During the one-hour online meeting, presenters Lector. Dr. Kim Verhaegh and Jasper Klasen (ESCH-R PhD WP5) shared their insights and research on “Sustainability versus Infection Prevention” and “Making healthcare more sustainable, what can you do with data?”

Lector. Dr. Kim Verhaegh addressed the topic of sustainability versus infection prevention. She explains how, as a healthcare professional, you can reduce your ecological footprint in such a way that the infection risk is acceptable without compromising patient safety.

Physician-researcher Mr. Dr. Jasper Klasen, ICU Adult Erasmus MC and PhD student ESCH-R Work Package 5 Living Labs discusses how to find ways to become more sustainable with a good example from the ICU Adult department within Erasmus MC.
