Global healthcare delegates discover circular innovations while visiting the ESCH-R Living Lab at Erasmus MC

On September 24th, a diverse group of 40 international guests from all over the world participating in the Health Visitors Programme (organized by Task Force Healthcare) visited the ESCH-R Living Lab at Erasmus MC to engage in a stimulating discussion on circularity in healthcare. The delegation included hospital directors, embassy officials, policy makers, and other healthcare leaders from around the world, all eager to learn about our groundbreaking efforts in this critical field.

The guests were introduced to the initial findings of ESCH-R’s research, showcasing our innovative approaches to making healthcare more circular. Following the presentation, they were given a guided tour of the Living Lab, where they could see first-hand how theory is being translated into practical solutions. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees expressing deep interest in our work. Numerous professional contacts were exchanged, underscoring the significance of this exchange and positioning our program as one of the highlights of the entire multi-day trip.
The discussions that took place were not only inspiring but mutually beneficial. Many of the guests shared valuable insights and perspectives on how their own countries are tackling similar sustainability challenges. This exchange of ideas enriched our understanding and provided new avenues to explore in our research. The event underscored the global relevance of our work and the potential for international collaboration to drive meaningful change in healthcare circularity.
