On Wednesday, 19 November, an ESCH-R delegation from WP4 and WP5, together with students, visited consortium-partner Medtronic Maastricht. Mark Lazerom, Janny Boekhout, Marijke Marcheschi and Robbert Quakernaat shared Medtronic’s sustainability efforts in product development.

Next, three graduating students from TU Delft and TU Eindhoven presented their insights (analysis) so far regarding a medical device for interventional cardiology.

Eleonore van Hees and Anna Statius Muller, IDE Delft, presented the sustainability analysis of the product using a product journey, Life Cycle Assessment, waste audits, and observations in the operating room. They also presented circular solution directions.

Vita van den Broek, TU Eindhoven, presented her growing insights into sustainable business models.

Following the presentations, the group continued brainstorming about circular product and business opportunities.
