De tweede Community of Practice voor verpleegkundigen en Opleiders op 19 juni 2025 werd gemodereerd door dr. Ellen Bakker (WP6-lead). Twee gastsprekers presenteren over hun kennis en ervaringen. Allereerst lector dr. Kim Verhaegh, Verpleegkundig Leiderschap bij Hogeschool Leiden en Alrijne Zorggroep; zij gaat in op het onderwerp ‘duurzaamheid versus infectiepreventie’. Ze legt uit hoe je als zorgprofessional je ecologische voetafdruk kan verkleinen op een zodanige manier dat het infectierisico aanvaardbaar is zonder de patiëntveiligheid in gevaar te brengen. Arts-onderzoeker mr. drs. Jasper Klasen, IC-Volwassenen Erasmus MC en PhD-student ESCH-R Werkpakket 5 Living Labs gaat in op de vraag hoe je manieren kunt vinden om te verduurzamen met een goed voorbeeld van de afdeling IC-Volwassenen binnen Erasmus MC.

De eerste Community of Practice voor verpleegkundigen en Opleiders op 20 maart 2025 werd gemodereerd door dr. Ellen Bakker (WP6-lead). Tijdens de online bijeenkomst van een uur deelden sprekers lector. dr. Kim Verhaegh en Yara Gutter (MSc Health Sciences) hun inzichten en onderzoek over de rol van verpleegkundigen en opleiders in de transitie naar circulaire en duurzame ziekenhuizen.

Are you a researcher, teacher, student who is interested in transdisciplinary collaborations? Every month the EWUU alliance organizes a lecture about research and education of the alliance. This lecture was organised by the institute 4 a Circular Society. (i4CS). On Thursday May 23, the i4CS hosted an online lunch & learn lecture themed “Co-Creation Living Labs for Circular Healthcare”, based around our research line Circular Safe Hospitals.

The lecture is presented by Marcel Crul (NHL Stenden), Redmer van Leeuwen (UMCU), Silke Rijcks (Erasmus MC), and hosted by Florijn Dekkers (UMCU).

This session analyzes the contribution of the healthcare sector to the climate crisis, its climate vulnerabilities and ways in which healthcare facilities can become more resilient in the face of increasingly frequent and severe weather events. It discusses the terminology needed to understand different sources of GHG emissions (e.g. scope 1) and how to act to reduce them in the healthcare sector. It also discusses existing reports and guidelines for the decarbonization of the healthcare sector that could be applied in different settings.
